The Air Jordan 3 "Doernbecher" was a successful release when it first dropped in December of 2010. It was designed by Cole Johanson, who participated in the OHSU Doernbecher Freestyle program, and his mission was to tell his story through the silhouette. The DB3 features a tonal red upper with a diamond grid pattern subtly spelling out his name. His two favorite foods, spaghetti and chocolate, are writtent behind the heel tabs. The insoles bear the words Strength and Courage, which were Cole's backbone in beating his lymphoma. The Jordan 3 Doernbecher was instantly sold out, and still continues to be highly sought out and incredibly pricey. In 2013, Nike released the silhouette for a second time on their website and select Nike stores. However, due to bots, Nike had to cancel a number of orders. Nevertheless, the Air Jordan 3 "Doernbecher" remains a favorite among collectors and celebrities who still sport the design today.
